(Silk screen, kids; look it up.) The homies recently did some shirts for me, and I decided to lace them up with a little mix (ok, a long mix) especially for the shop. (They always got the ill hip-hop playing in there). Yes, the implication is correct: the hip-hop crates in the Ill-Literate Think Pad and Lounge are equally deep. Gramaphone in Chicago**, Access in San Diego--I used to buy lots of local hip-hop joints from these places, and you'll hear some of those recs on this 80min sure shot. Two groups in particular that I used to dig a lot who are on this mix are Typical Cats from Chicago and LA Symphony*** from, uh, LA!
